Low Class Ink

Paper, paper everywhere and not a drop of ink.

Here at Low Class Ink, we blog by the four Fs: fiction, fashion, fromage and fotos. We also use the royal "we."

  • So the other night I was seriously craving cake and couldn’t decide which was less work - baking a cake, or making a late night run to Ralph’s. Turns out, baking a lemon pound cake with lemon icing ain’t so hard. Recipe here (but it needs a helluva lot more lemon extract/lemon juice).

  • Behold: a layer of dense French chocolate cake sandwiched between two layers of yellow cake, baked from scratch, garnished with rice krispy sesame seeds, lemon icing cheese, Fruit Roll-Up relish and ketchup, plus shortbread fries with lemon icing mustard and cherry pudding ketchup.
The In-N-Out theme was a last-minute inspired touch. The girl behind the counter thought my order was plenty strange, “Two cheeseburgers, animal style, a large chocolate milkshake, and an empty fry holder, no fries. Actually, wait. I do want fries. But give me the fry holder separately. I’m working on a… project. Thanks!”
I’m exhausted. I spent 5 hours baking yesterday, but it’s the most fucking awesome cake I’ve ever made. Happy birthday, Mr. Ink!
